Busy People

<aside> 💡 현대 도시를 지배하는 감정인 ‘바쁨’이라는 상태가 사람들의 몸과 감정에 어떤 흔적을 남기는지

탐구하는 신체극 기반 퍼포먼스이다. 빠름과 효율이 미덕이 된 사회 속에서 반복되는 시간 압박은

몸의 리듬을 왜곡하고, 타인과의 관계를 느슨하게 만든다.

‘바쁘면 화가 난다’, ‘바쁘면 타인을 돌볼 여유를 잃는다’라는 가설에서 출발해,

배우들의 경험을 바탕으로 바쁨이 몸에 남긴 신호들을 움직임으로 가시화한다.

바쁠수록 타인은 경쟁의 대상이 되지만, 동시에 우리는 서로의 도움이 없이는 살아갈 수 없다.

〈바쁜 사람들〉은 이 모순 속에서 타인과의 접촉이 만들어내는 피로와 긴장,

그리고 그 안에 공존하는 아름다움을 드러낸다.

This is a physical theatre–based performance that explores how the state of busyness—the dominant emotion of contemporary urban life—leaves traces on the body and emotions of individuals. In a society where speed and efficiency are treated as virtues, repeated time pressure distorts bodily rhythms and loosens relationships with others. The work begins from the hypotheses that “busyness breeds anger” and “when we are busy, we lose the capacity to care for others.” Drawing from the performers’ lived experiences, the piece visualizes the signals that busyness leaves on the body through movement. As we become busier, others turn into competitors—yet at the same time, we cannot survive without one another’s support.

Within this contradiction, Busy People reveals on stage the fatigue and tension created through contact with others, as well as the moments of beauty that coexist within them.
